Patina Patina PatinaMiller performed the role of lead in the 1972 Stephen Schwartz Broadway production of "Pippin". The Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" and also included Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the others in the cast. Patina gave her unique contemporary twist on Ben Vereen's character and was able to master the Fosse moves that are so vital to the production. Patina's performance earned her an Tony Award in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was as well for Outstanding Actress. From December 2012 to January 2013, she played the role of the Lead Player in the American Repertory Theatre's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
